6 Rally Legend 2008 " SAN MARINO"10-11-2008
“An old-time competition. Two really enjoyable days among champions and cars which have made history. To re-live rallies as they once were, and to carry on dreaming…”
So, this year we’ve decided to synthesize with these few effective lines the “Legend”, as it’s now a tradition to call this event among those who have this passion.
In fact, the great success of this meeting during these few years, and the high number of participants, makes people understand that there is still enough space to enjoy ourselves and to make other people enjoy themselves, without the need to invent impossible things.
Characteristics of the 60s and 70s were, from every point of view, cheerfulness joined with the pleasure of improvising things, which were done in a practical, enjoyable way, with few, but very clear rules.
Maybe this is the secret of the “Rallylegend” success, a meeting during the weekend when everything is magically connected to that period, where the word “stress” was an unknown adjective, and where fun was an absolutely important activity.
Carlo Cavicchi, editor of “Sport Auto Moto”, great reporter and valid pilot during those years, synthesizes all this in the lines here below.
This year we have maintained the same formula as last year; this means a mix formed by earth and asphalt, with a first part at night which exalted pilots, and those who are fond of this kind of competition, during the last edition. Another innovation will be represented by the inclusion of a demonstration show, which will be repeated three times during the competition, for the delight of the audience, which we expect will be absolutely numerous during the special tests.
As every year we have prepared many little surprises, that will contribute to the growth of great expectations for this event: one of these is represented by the creation of the 1° Legend IWC Cup, reserved for the great pilots of the past, with a special classification.
We heartily thank the State Department of Sport, C.O.N.S and FAMS, which contributed to the organisation of this event, leading it up to international fame.
Last but not least, a sincere thanks to the sponsors, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to make “Rallylegend” become the most important event in the sector, and a special thanks to all the participants too, who have believed with enthusiasm in our idea since the first edition.
So, at least once a year, why don’t we throw diaries and calendars away, and why don’t we let our mobiles, and other electronic contraptions, ring? We are part of history…”Rallylegend” has come back!!!
